This house on Gipps Street, Wollongong will forever be a favourite of mine. The colour scheme and round windows give it an undeniably nautical look. Built in 1949 by its owner, this beauty is just a pleasure to look at.
The large bay window at the eastern end compliments its functionalist style and to put it plain and simple it just looks like a fun place to live.
I always imagined a sea captain or something of like residing there.
For me, it’s the little things like the parallel bricking coming down above the little balcony, the horizontal palings that make up the railings, the matching retaining wall and fence are the icing on the cake. I truly adore this little gem of Wollongong!
